I have always loved experimenting with make up, but I recently realized my base is always the same. I always use the same products, and yes, mostly I just repurchase products I loved, just because well, if you're like me - you know it works, so why'd you buy something else?
I do like changing my lip colours and eyeshadow colors though, but my eyeshadow is mostly nude and my lipsticks mostly red (or pink). You can say I'm quite boring when it comes to make up.
That is one of the reasons why I decided to start experimenting with make up a little bit more - I'd love to learn more about applying eyeshadows or foundation beautifully. I feel like I get how the basic stuff works, but that's it.
I have also never been one to smear expensive make up onto my face, just because I don't have the money and if I have some money I'd like to spend on make up, I'd rather buy 5 colorful lipsticks, than one expensive lipstick. I don't know why, but that is just how my brain works! I wanted to show you all the products I use on a daily basis and you'll find a mini review about every product in this article. Enjoy!
First of all, I apply a moisturizer to my face. I have been using coconut oil for the past few weeks because it is so good for my skin! I have never had a great skin but the coconut oil has calmed my skin a lot and I love it. It's also very cheap compared to a regular day/night cream, you only need a little bit to cover your complete face!
I always use BB cream instead of foundation. I know foundation gives better coverage, but honestly, I have never found a foundation to match my face (I have a very light neck and a bit darker face, and freckles which my face looks weird without). I have been using 'Kruidvat's' BB cream for some time now, it's a Dutch brand and it was cheap but it works perfectly for me! It's in the lightest shade available (I believe there are only two shades) and it has 15 SPF, which is not perfect but it's acceptable.
To take the shine of my face I apply some powder, I have recently bought the 'Essence Pure Skin Anti-Spot Compact Powder' (so much for long names) and it has been working for me, it just blocks the extreme shining which happens after applying the coconut oil combined with the BB cream.
If I have some breakouts on my face which are still visible I usually put some concealer on it - I don't apply it before I apply my BB cream because it sounds weird but I believe the positive effects of the BB cream don't work anymore if I apply my concealer before! I use the Catrice Camouflage Cream in the shave 010 Ivory (which isn't as ivory as they claim).
I sometimes apply a tad blush to my face, not too much but only a little bit. I use the Kiko 'Sun Bronzing Blush' in 101 Crystal Rose. My friend brought it home for me from Italy or France - I do not remember - and I love it. It has three colors which you can either mix or apply seperately and I mostly mix it. It has some shimmer in it and it just looks lovely on the face.
I ALWAYS wear eyeliner - my face just looks so.. empty? without eyeliner. I use the Essence Liquid Ink eyeliner, the waterproof version because my eyes tend to get a bit teary, and this prevents smearing my make up.
For mascara I always use the Essence 'All Eyes On Me' mascara, I honestly don't really care about mascara too much because every mascara I have ever tried literally did the same thing for me.
I don't wear lipstick all the time but when I do I love wearing NYC's 'City Proof Twistable Intense Lip Color' in 052 'Roosevelt Island Red'. It's not as intense as they say it is but I love it, and I love the smell of it. It's not super long lasting but it's a pleasure to re-apply it!
Well this is what I put on my face on a daily basis - it looks like much but I create a kind of natural look with it (which means I don't put tons of every product on my face, just a bit!)
Do you personally use lots of make up, and what are your favorites?
