Coconut Oil: Natural Day Cream #2

Good day! I am sure you have already heard about it: coconut oil. Every body who likes natural products seems to be obsessed with it - and so am I. I like using coconut oil as a day cream (next to my aloe vera) but it has many other uses, too.

To use it as an eye-make up remover, simply apply some oil to a make up removal pad and rub it over your eyes. I didn't want to do it for the photograph though because I look like a dead goth when I do!

You might be thinking, 'why would I put coconut oil on my face?' - well, it has many proven benefits. It is a healthy alternative which can be used for many things. I've listed my favorite uses right here:

- For cooking (instead of butter! There is tasteless coconut oil, too.)
- In a smoothie
- As body lotion
- Eye-makeup remover
- Sunscreen (it has SPF 4)
- As a hair conditioner

As you can see, coconut oil can be used for many things. My absolute favorite, however, is to use the coconut oil as a day cream/night cream. It's extremely moisturizing and you use it just like you'd use your regular day cream.
I currently own the scentless coconut oil but I want a coconut scented pot - because I use the oil so regularly and I love the smell of a coconut!

If you live in a country where the daily temperature is about 25 degrees celcius, the coconut oil will be oil. If you live in a country where the temperatures are lower, it won't be an oily texture but it will be hard. I always keep my coconut 'oil' in the fridge because I always spill on the ground when I don't and it gets so greasy and hard to wipe off!

My skin has gotten clearer since I started using coconut oil (and the aloe vera) and I 'trust' it more than a super nice smelling, but oh-so-chemical day cream.

It's a very cheap alternative as well: you can use it for so many different things and it is not really expensive (it's cheaper than my former Nivea & Garnier day creams - I tried so many things but none of them moisturized my face well enough).

I'd recommend this to anyone: always have a pot of coconut oil in your house. It can be used for nearly everything and it smells nice (if you buy the scented one). It's natural, cheap and really good - why is not everyone using this?!

Have you ever used coconut oil? Did you like it?
