If there is one perfume maker who's got it all figured out, it is Marc Jacobs. His perfumes always seem to be the perfect combination of elegance, youthfulness and good-smelliness (hehe). Whenever I am in a perfume store I run to the Marc Jacobs section and sniff all the perfumes and try to remember them all as clearly as possible.
I love every scent by him but I never actually owned one - just because I don't want to buy perfume for myself. Perfume is special to me - it is a scent you wear, a scent which makes you recognizable and I love it when I get a perfume on a special occasion. Knowing that someone has taken the time to pick out a perfume for me is such a nice feeling - it makes me feel special.
When I got home the other night, my mother was acting a little bit strange - (you might be thinking 'whuuut this transition isn't really casual', I'll explain it to you) - she was even happier than she normally is and after some time I realized why: she had a little present for us (me and my sister). When she got back from 'going upstairs and getting some stuff'' we had to close our eyes like it was Christmas morning and before I even closed my eyes I realized what was going to be in my hands: the perfume I wanted to have so badly. I'd never ever buy it for myself but getting this as a gift is so special and I love the scent so much.
Daisy Dream is an eau de toilette, which I personally don't mind. The scent is so different from the bottle's scent when on the skin: I adore it. I keep on sniffing my inner wrists as this is the place where I always spray my perfume.
I am no perfume expert so I looked some things up, so you can 'visualize' the scent (is there a word for visualising a scent?) - and the top notes are blackberries, grapefruit and pear. It smells very fruity and it is not a heavy scent, it's perfect for the daytime. The scent makes me think of flowers, dresses, picknicks and sunshine. It's a scent I'd want my sweat to smell like.
The perfume's little cap - I think it's gorgeous. I thought it's be very sensitive to finger prints but the little daisies cover this up.
It is not a cheap perfume but the scent lasts for 5/6 hours which I think is not bad for an eau de toilette. The 30ml bottle sells at around 40 euros, the 50ml bottle is a little bit more than 50 euros and the 100 ml bottle is around 80 euros. It is always hard to believe that you're paying 80 euros for 100ml of a good smelling liquid but it's totally worth it.
If you ever find yourself in a perfume store with a Marc Jacobs section, don't miss this one. If you're saving up money for a house or dog or something, walk straight past it as you probably won't be able to resist buying it.
Oh, and I realize this post sounds so, well, paid-for, but it isn't - I just truly love the smell.
