Dr Martens - Bessie Sandal

My love for Dr Martens is infinite. I swear.

I was in Amsterdam the other day and my city doesn't have an Urban Outfitters - Amsterdam does have one, though. I barely ever visit it as I find it so expensive but I couldn't resist going in: it's such an attractive store. The shoe section immediately caught my eye and guess what - some Dr Martens were on sale. I thought, well, I have a regular shoe size - I am sure they won't have my size. I was looking for some low Dr Martens sandals but they didn't have them in my size - which didn't surprise me. Then my friend said, 'what about these, Sjoukje?'

And my jaw dropped.

And I fell in love.

And then I saw they were in my size.

And they were reduced from 170 euros to 39 euros.

And I died.

Okay - just kidding. The dying part. The rest of it is true. I purchased them (after trying them on, doing little screams and scaring away the whole staff). These are the babes (did I just call my shoes babes? I just did) I am talking about.

I want to marry them. The best thing about them is - you don't even feel they're heels (platforms). It's just like you're walking in flats. They are a bit chunky and that is why I love them - they are the perfect combination of Dr Martens and sandals/platforms for me. I'm having a hard time breaking them in as the leather is quite stiff - but that's normal for Docs. My other pairs were all really uncomfortable in the beginning as well but they're like little cushions now.

If you are looking to purchase these sandals as well: I'd look for them online as I've never seen them in real life before - and they are so much cheaper online! This is the link to the original Dr Marten site, they're on sale there as well. This is the last pair of Docs I ever bought - I promise. It is becoming an addiction and I believe it's an addiction more expensive than heroin?! - Just kidding. But I must really stop it.Do you have a pair of Dr Martens? And what do you think of these?

  2. These look so amazing on you! I love the idea of platform sandals but being pretty tall find them difficult to wear. I've got a pair of white flowery doc boots and love them!! :) xx
