About Me

Hello there, and welcome to lemontierres.com. I started this blog in 2014 and during the three years it has existed, it has shifted from a lifestyle blog to a nothing-blog to a blog I cannot really name, as I share random thought-chains, opinion articles, and stuff I like without being sponsored like I was before.

My name is Sjoukje, I am nineteen years old, and live in Amsterdam. I am in the third year of my bachelor and have been specializing in journalism for two years, and taking a minor break from that by learning more about philosophy.

This article used to be different but a recent shift in a different direction made me delete the former words and replace them with some more basic ones.

  1. Aw. This is good x

  2. I really enjoyed this article! Good luck with your blog, I am definitely following you :D

  3. This was a lovely post to get to know you more. I even caught myself sitting here trying to say your name out loud a fews - I am not quite sure if it was right or not! I think watching your favorite shows in bed is perfectly acceptable but it looks as though you have hobbies even though you might think that you do not! (photography, drawing, AND writing are definitely hobbies, and all three together means you actually have quite a few!)

  8. This is so cute. I love the lemon haha. I can kind of relate to the whole language dilemma: I am fully bilingual and speak english every day, but sometimes I feel like I should be blogging in french, because not many francophone bloggers are out there, and I find blogs are often very inaccessible to non-english speakers.

  9. Lovely introduction! It's always interesting to get to know the blogger behind the blog. And I totally understand your choice of writing in English instead of our native language. I did the same, and this is really hard sometimes. Anyway.

    xoxo, Renaud

  10. Modern family and new girl are shows I definitely want to qatch! I love to see more photography kinda posts if that's one of your main interests x

  11. So nice of you to explain the pronunciation of your name. I love it!

  12. Lovely post! I have to admit I actually typed your name into the YouTube search bar to find out how to pronounce it as despite the Dutch course I went to about a year ago I just wasn't sure (and it turned out the way I thought it was pronounced was wrong). I think it's a really beautiful name, by the way :)
I really like how rambly this post appears when you read it while it still contains a lot of personal information about you. x

  13. Hello!

Loved reading this, it's great to see the real you! Looking forward to reading/seeing lots more from you.

  14. Thanks for the introduction. I feel like I know you better now! You have a very good command of English, by the way.

  15. Heyyy! (forgot how to to pronounce it already) I love this post, ive been following you for some time and I feel like i know more about you which i love :)

  16. This was such a great post! (Finally I have some time to catch up on my blog reading!! I'm so far behind!) We are so much a like it's crazy. 17. Mooie blog Sjoukje! Keep up the good work!

  18. Somehow this introduction made me feel so close to you (I hope I don't seem too creepy) :)

  19. Hi! I've been following you for a while and it's really cool to get to know you a little better :) Also, and I promise I do not intend to be rude, just helpful, tierres is a word! It's Asturian, and it is the plural form of tierra (which means as much as ground/floor/earth) :)

  20. lovely photo..

  21. Hey, you have such a beautiful name! And that's a hell of a introduction. Very well done :)
I used to live in The Netherlands (in Terneuzen which is in Zeeland) and am completely in love with that country!
I will be following your blog from now on, you can bet on that! You rock :))

May I ask you one thing tho? Why aren't you on Twitter?? Was looking for you....!

    Cheers from Germany!

  24. I absolutely LOVE this post. So cool and personal. Also, i really enjoy your writing. I honestly can't even tell English isn't your native language.

  25. This is the best introductory post I've ever read. It's like you're sat right next to me!

  26. Nice to meet you :) I am the same, so many photos, so few of me. If you didn't tell me you weren't English I wouldn't know because your English is written perfectly.

  27. What a lovely introduction - nice to meet you !
