Good day everybody! Oh, how I love Netflix and its extreme ability to completely obsess me for an absurdly long period of time. Whenever I start watching a new show I can't stop - and I love and hate that at the same time. There are many, many shows I've binge-watched over the years and I'd love to share them with you. May the list get even longer!
1. Breaking Bad
I think every classic binge-watcher has obsessed over this show but I must admit one thing: I haven't seen the last episodes. Let me explain this to you before you leave this website questioning my Netflix-beliefs: when I started watching Breaking Bad I was at home, sick. I watched the first three seasons in five days (yes, that's possible). When I got back to school, work - the normal life - I was completely drained but excited at the same time (do you know that feeling?) so I watched about two more episodes a day until I felt like I was Walter White and I was cooking crystal meth. I knew he was going to die and I didn't want to be dead (and I didn't want Breaking Bad to die for me), so my Breaking Bad obsession faded away before I even saw the last five episodes. Sad? Yes. Will I solve this in the future? Absolutely.
2. New Girl
Hey girl, whatcha doing? Hey girl, where're you going... - watching New Girl makes me happy: Jess's dresses, Nick's careless attitude, Schmidt's (does he even have a first name?!) endless tries and Winston's.. well, Winston's weirdness.
I think the combination of Harvey's business-y awesomeness and Mike's smart awesomeness makes this show legendary - which brings me to another show.
4. How I Met Your Mother
I'd seen many episodes on Comedy Central before my sister told me this show was on Netflix: I liked it but never thought I'd like it this much. This is my current obsession! It's always funny how comedy shows are just funny comedy shows when they're on TV, but when you actually follow the show and watch every episode in chronological order a real storyline develops.
5. Modern Family
I've probably seen every Modern Family episode three times but I won't ever get tired of it. I can't decide whether Phil or Cam is my favorite character! I don't really like the sixth season - I'm so sad that kids've grown up. I sound like a sad grandmother and I know it inevitable but I feel like I've lost friends.
6. Orange Is The New Black
Even though I thought Piper Chapman was kind of annoying every now and then (is it bad to admit that?!) I loved this show and am excited for season three.
7. American Horror Story
I don't like horror movies or horror stories - I just don't like being scared! I did like the first season of American Horror Story, though - but I couldn't watch the second season. Even thinking about that monster gives me the shivers.. bleh!
8. The Killing
This probably was the most addictive show - all the other shows can easily be played in the background as a nice (sometimes funny) noise to feel a bit less lonely, but The Killing is an amazing show to really dive into. If you like detectives and thrillers, definitely give this show a go!
I stopped after season three but man, the pot-selling mother made me laugh so hard. I don't know why I stopped watching it, though - I should probably give this show another go after I 'finished' How I Met Your Mother.
I found all these shows after I scrolled through the 'My Activity' section on Netflix and woah, I'm embarrassed about the enormous list of hours I spent watching my favorite shows. I didn't remember watching Weeds even though it cost me so many hours - but I don't mind! 'Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time', isn't that a quote? On the contrary, I watched some educational documentaries on Netflix as well.. does that make me any better? Okay, I should stop making up excuses - I think we all have that one secret (or not so secret, in my case) addiction which is totally socially acceptable, but still a bit of a pity.
Which show is your favorite?
