A Few Days By The Sea

Even though some people seem to live for it, I can't stand the feeling of having sand between my toes. It sounds silly but that is one of the few natural things that make me cringe! Even though the few sandy days by the sea made me cringe countless times I had a lovely weekend away with my family, in celebration of my father's 50th birthday. Enjoy the pictures!

One of the downsides of always taking photographs is that you're never in them! Here's a mirror selfie in my sea-themed bedroom.

We visited the village of Zoutelande which is in Zeeland (The Netherlands). We had a lovely time and even though it was very windy we had some lovely walks along the beach. We also visited Middelburg, only to find out all the shops were closed - but that wasn't too bad because it saved me some money (hehe!) and we now had time to see the beautiful old buildings.

Finding vegetarian food in little villages can be quite hard: I usually find myself eating something simple like pesto pasta or a sandwich with many vegetables but I had some very nice meals, including the ones you see in the pictures, the first one being a mozzarella/pesto/tomato sandwich, the second one being a vegetarian meal I don't remember the name of.

My little sister blew lots of bubbles as well and even though I'm not obsessed with them as she is, I think they're beautiful objects to take photographs of.

I had a lovely weekend! I hope yours was good as well. Lots of love - Sjoukje

  5. Stunning photos! What a beautiful place, it looks like you had a really lovely visit. I love being by the sea, I live a 5 minute walk from the beach which I really love, also finding vegetarian food can sometimes be such a pain can't it!

  12. Haha, I was looking at your pictures and suddenly I thought "hey, I always bike to school through that street!' Did you came to Middelburg on a Sunday? That's when all the shops are closed, Zeeland can be a bit old-school sometimes, haha. xoxo Ines
