Oh, smoothie bowls - how I love you. You can replace breakfast: even lunch with them, filling your belly with a little smoothie-bowl baby. (Am I too obsessed?) This isn't the first time I'm posting a smoothie bowl recipe on my blog but my love for them has grown in the past few weeks and I created a recipe I love even more.
toppings (blueberries, strawberries, apple slices, honey, raisins, nuts..)
soy yoghurt or water
what you need to do
freeze two bananas the night before you're making the bowl! (don't forget to cut them in little pieces)
slice one apple and blend it with a small cup of yoghurt
add the frozen bananas
blend this again (if it doesn't blend, add more yoghurt or some water)
pour this little mixture in a bowl
add your toppings!
What I love most about this recipe is that the 'base' (the frozen bananas blended with the apple) is very sweet, but leaves room for improvisation: almost every sweet topping can be added to this mixture, without letting the bowl taste odd. You should try adding only apples as a topping and sprinkle some cinnamon on it. It's heaven - I promise.
