I got my first pair of glasses when I was 10, maybe 11 years old. Hearing that my eyes weren't perfect anymore and that I had to wear glasses to correct the minor mistake in my eyes was terrible - I hated my glasses (and when looking back at old pictures, I still hate them).
Time passed and I gradually started liking my glasses more and more - they'd become a part of me, just like my arms, eyes, legs. I also started enjoying looking for glasses more - while it first was a chore, looking for glasses became more fun.
I'd heard about Polette many times before and it was one of the websites I'd dreamed about collaborating with since starting my blog in 2014. I normally never do this, but I personally reached out to Polette, asking if they were in for a collaboration - and I was so happy when they told me 'yes'! I immediately sent out my order and then the waiting could begin - until I finally received my glasses, put them on my nose and fell in love with them.
Let me first tell you what Polette actually is. Polette is an online store for prescription- and non-prescription (sun)glasses. Their prices are spectacularly low because they order from the factory immediately, rather than being the intermediary. What I love about their concept is that you can order more than one pair of glasses and still spend less than what 'real' store-bought glasses would cost you: this allows you to switch up the spectacles on your nose every now and then.
Ordering from Polette was easy: you only need to know your personal eye measurement details in order to let the glasses be perfect for you. What I did to get to know my details was call my optician for the details - they printed them for me so I could fill in the online form easily.
My glasses are super light-weight and I've worn them every day since I got them. The quality is great as well: they don't feel fragile at all. Polette also gave me the possibility to order two extra accessories and I went for an awesome case and a beautifully printed wipe, which you can see in the last picture I included.
What I love about my glasses is how 'me' (like in the title) they are: everyone who sees them says 'yep, they're perfect for you'. I've never had that response before and I'm loving it - this is the first pair of glasses I actually love wearing.
Let me know what you think about my glasses in the comments!
