Healthy Apple Pie Breakfast

Hi there lovely people! Being a healthy food-loving student isn't always easy: I want to eat as varied, elaborate and healthy as possible but I obviously have a budget. This forces me to cook creatively and I must admit - it has been going well! I actually like creating less common meals, just because I have the ingredients in my fridge. This is a recipe I discovered ages ago, adjusted a little bit and have been eating for the last few weeks - it's time to give this wonderful breakfast option some well-deserved blog space!


what you'll need

an apple (a day..)
almond milk
oatmeal
cinnamon
a microwave
a pan

how-to

Pour about a cup of oatmeal into a pan / add as much almond milk as needed (I usually add almond milk until all the oatmeal grains are soaked) / put this pan on a stove and heat it / cut an apple into little blocks / put the apple blocks in the microwave for about one and a half minute / once your oatmeal is all nice and saturated, pour this over the hot apple blocks / sprinkle some cinnamon on top



You can also add some raisins - that'd actually complete the apple pie feeling - but I don't really like raisins.

What I think is great about this recipe is that it contains three vital parts of your diet: some fruit, oatmeal which will make you feel saturated and full, almond milk which contains many healthy vitamins. Whenever I have this for breakfast (and I eat this almost every day - kind of boring, I know!) I don't feel hungry until lunch time, while I do tend to snack whenever I just eat a banana or something similar.
