Going home! - Even though I love having a place I can call my own, I’m really looking forward to going home. Two weeks of being spoilt by my parents (hehe), not having to think of three meals a day, and the luxury of a dishwasher (woh). I’m also excited about the cosy evenings on the couch with (terrible) Christmas movies and way too much candy…
Reading - I have been trying to extend my ‘literary knowledge’ lately - I’m not studying Literature or something similar but I do want to know more about the classics! I want to finish reading ‘The Great Gatsby’ this break, and 1984 is on my (non-mandatory) list as well. I also still haven’t read ‘The Bees’ by Laline Paull and I want to start reading that too. It isn’t really a classic but it seems like it is an interesting book. I’ll start reading the Gossip Girl series tonight.. I’m not proud of saying this because these are books written for children of 13 years old, and just having shared my wishes of knowing more about literature this book sounds like the exact opposite of what I should have on my virtual e-book shelf, let alone read. But, the books are great for when you’re tired of studying and covered in a blanket. At least, that is what I tell myself.
Being able to call myself a blogger again - this is another goal of this Christmas break. It went great for a while - I managed to share two posts a week - but for the last few weeks my online presence has been abominable. My head is overfilled with ideas but I just don’t have any time to share my thoughts.
Visit something creative? - even though I’m looking forward to doing nothing at my parents’ house I know I’ll get bored within less than 4 days. I’d love to visit a photo exhibition but I don’t know what’s hot and happening! If you have any tips, please make sure to share them with me. :-)
Decorate my new room! - this date officially isn’t part of my Christmas break, but from the 15th of December on I will finally, finally, finally be able to move into my new room! I’ll have a little balcony of my own (yes!) and I’ll have about twice as much space as I have now. The room I currently live in is 8m2 so moving into a new room in which I can actually move around without bumping into closets or tables or beds is going to be such a relief.
Taking photos again - I haven’t been able to take decent photographs in the past few weeks (and I blame you, bad weather!). I’m very excited to start taking share-worthy photographs again.
Watching series - and with series I mean NEW series. I’m currently re-watching Gossip Girl (jesus Sjoukje get a life) and even though Serena and Dan and Nate (and Chuck too, a tiny bit) have all conquered my heart, the time for something new is here. If I only knew what to start watching!
Yay! The rest of my Christmas break will obviously be spent on drinking liters and liters of chai tea latte, sleeping, spending time with my family, singing Christmas carols and taking baths (I really miss my parents’ bath). Whenever I use exclamation marks in abundance you know I am excited. I really need a break - my head has been so full lately. After the Christmas break a new semester will start, and I’ll have to start looking for a new job as well (a higher rent is part of a bigger room as well, unfortunately). Oh well - I actually am kind of excited about that too! For now I have to get back to studying. Two more exams and I’ll be free...
